Wisconsin became the 30th State to join the Union on May 29th, 1848. 

Wisconsin Allows: Recalls, Local Initiatives, Nominations.

Signature Requirements:

  • Recalls – 25% of the voters who voted for the incumbent to be recalled.
  • Local Initiatives 15% of the votes cast for Governor in the City or Village.
  • Deadlines: 60 days.

Section 12 Article XIII of the Wisconsin Constitution provides citizens the right to Recall.

Wisconsin Statutes Section 9.20 authorizes citizens the right to Local Initiative.
